Google is all set to launch its pixel 10 lineup on 21 August 2025, but before the launch date we get to see some leaks which are secretly revealed by the company to create the hype of its product and some rumors which are no less than assumptions of tech youtubers. I have compiled some leaks and rumors about the specification of this upcoming pixel 10 lineup, even though the information I have compiled may not be concrete yet it would be very close to accurate.
Tensor G5 chip is rumored to be improved 36% over Tensor G4 chip.
Pixel 5 lineup was the last series to use snapdragon processor. The smartphones that came later on are all powered by Google tensor chip. History is witness, since the company has adopted tensor chip they are falling behind Apple & Samsung, especially in the performance department. The impact of this chip is not limited to the performance department only but to the battery department as well, because the tensor chip causes heating and heat to be a clear enemy to battery.
As always, we are going to see tensor g5 chip in pixel 10 lineup, but this latest chip is rumored to be improved 36% over the last year tensor g4 chip because Google is switching its manufacturing for tensor chip from Samsung to TSMF. If the said improvement come true, then pixel 10 series would regain the trust of its smartphone users.
It is important to bear in mind, no matter how much improved the tensor g5 chip would be, it is not going to compete with the exynos processor let alone the snapdragon 8 elite because the gap is still huge.
The pixel 10 base model is expected to receive an extra telephoto lens.
The pixel 10 base model is said to be unlike pixel 9 because it is going to be the first pixel base model smartphone which will have triple-lens camera system, an additional telephoto lens is rumored to be introduced in pixel 10 base model which is going to be 10.8 megapixel, same as pixel 10 pro fold. But this upgrade seems more downgrade because the ultrawide and the main camera will get weaker.
The ultrawide would be downgraded from 48 megapixel to 12 megapixel and the main camera will going to be the same as the google pixel 9a, down from 50 mp to 48 mp. The one who is going to switch from pixel 9 to pixel 10 for that extra telephoto lens then he will have to go through some downgrade.
The addition of telephoto is good and downgrading ultrawide is not disappointing because it is barely used, but downgrading main camera may cost the company a huge amount of sales of pixel 10 base model, but at the same time, I think the company is playing safe by downgrading main camera and ultrawide to keep pixel 10 pro superior to pixel 10 base model.
Google pixel 10 pro fold is going to receive significant upgrade.
The pixel 10 pro fold is going to have three things which no any other folding smartphone has until now.
- Pixel 10 pro fold is said to have packed the biggest non-silicon carbide battery in any foldable smartphone. It is rumored to come with a 5150 mAh battery, up from 4650 mAh battery in pixel 9 pro fold.
- Currently there is no any foldable smartphone in the market from any company which is protected by dust. The maximum we can get is water resistance only, but the upcoming pixel 10 pro fold is rumored to be the first folding smartphone to have an IP68 rating for both water and dust resistance.
- The pixel 10 pro fold will support Qi2 wireless charging.
Last year Pixel 9 pro fold turned out to be the best foldable smartphone and received the award by the mkbhd tech youtuber. If the said upgrades come true about pixel 10 pro fold and solve all the problems pixel 9 pro fold have, then the best foldable smartphone award should be attributed to pixel 10 pro fold.
The Google Pixel 10 Pro & Pixel 10 Pro Xl may barely come with any updrade.
The pixel 10 pro & pixel 10 pro XL are said to come with negligible amount of upgrades. The design of both the smartphones would 99% gonna be the same as the Pixel 9 pro and Pixel 9 pro XL. The same case is said about the camera department, only the battery capacity and charging speed are rumored to be slightly improved.
The Pixel 10 pro is expected to have a 4870 mAh battery, whereas the Pixel 10 pro XL may pack a 5200 mAh battery and the charging speed of both the smartphones would be boosted by 2 watt and both models are also expected to offer 15W of wireless charging.

Battery – 4870 mAh battery, up from 4700 mAh battery in Pixel 9 pro
Charging – 29 watt, up from 27 watt in pixel 9 pro
Pixel 10 Pro XL
Battery – 5200 mAh, up from 5060 in Pixel 9 pro XL
Charging – 39 watt, up from 37 watt in pixel 9 pro XL

There is zero android smartphone in the market to support Qi2 magnetic wireless charging. The Pixel 10 lineup, including Pixel 10 pro fold, is rumored to be the first android smartphone to receive Qi2 wireless charging.
